Wmode, the operator of ClearMode, a distribution service that offers discovery, delivery, recruitment, management and payment of mobile content and also a company offering a complete suite of technologies that enable content providers, mobile operators, MVNOs and brand companies to deliver a huge number of wireless Internet
content services to their consumers, has announced today the acquisition of ProvisionX, a third party mobile games delivery business, from Glu Mobile, one of the leading global publishers of mobile games.
ProvisionX is a service that allows carriers to
provide the mobile games subscribers the most effective and enjoyable purchase experience possible and it's present at the moment in the services provided by mobile phone operators and media companies in South America,
Asia and Europe.
Thus, by adding the ProvisionX technology to their content management services, Wmode has made a step forward in their global growth strategy and have also expanded their distribution services in new mobile markets.
This way, Wmode will offer its mobile distribution services in more than 20 countries and will offer its distribution network to game publishers and developers to use it as an entrance to new markets and as a much more cost effective and quicker way to get a stronger presence.
As Emanuel Bertolin, the CEO of Wmode, has stated: "the acquisition of ProvisionX strongly complements our current services by offering a dedicated gaming
platform in high growth markets and expanding our reach in key Asian, Latin American and European markets. We are excited to work closely with the ProvisionX customers and provide them with our industry leading expertise in mobile content distribution."
Also, Greg Ballard, the President and CEO of Glu
Mobile, has declared that they "have been a partner of Wmode for years, and we are confident that their strong operational experience combined with the addition of ProvisionX to their portfolio of services will provide ProvisionX's current and future customers with innovative services that will enhance their current business".
