HTML5 is taking over the web, there's no debate about that. The question is… how fast? Fast enough, it seems, Wix.com is responsible for over one million HTML5 websites in the past few months alone. Wix.com offers a simple WYSIWYG editor to create webpages, from templates or from scratch.

It's aimed at people who have little to no experience with actual code and no intention of learning, or the money to pay someone to build their sites.

Until very recently, the service relied on Flash to both make it easier for users to create their sites and to make sure the sites themselves are nice to look at.

In late March though, it debuted its HTML5 editor and templates. The tool is still in beta, but it's been used to create about one million websites to date. Since most users only create one site, that means about one million people have created an HTML5 site on Wix.com alone.
