Bad news for Witcher fans, as they will have to stay away of the Internet for the next nine months to avoid getting spoilers on the upcoming title in the franchise.

It appears that someone managed to download 30MB worth of design documents from CD Projekt's Google Drive account and made it publicly available to everyone.

This news is a warning to all fans out there to avoid reading any related news that might contain Witcher 3 spoilers. The design documents contain a fair share of details on the game's endings, but also lots of info on the quests you will be able to take in the game.

Some bestiary pictures and characters assets are included as well, along with the status of work on some parts of the game. These are definitely only intended for internal use, so we don't know how an outside person managed to get their hands on these documents.

The news appeared on Reddit and NeoGAF, some of the most popular sources of information for the gaming community, which means it has already spread globally.

Unfortunately, there's nothing one can do with these leaks, just avoid any news or forum threads that are talking about it, at least until the game is out. Enjoy the pictures attached, as you won't be getting any spoilers from us.

Anyway, it looks like CD Projekt has already acknowledged the leak and issued a short statement that only applies to those using their official forum:

“There is a purported TW3 info leak making the rounds right now, via all sorts of places. We don't know if it's a hoax, out of date data or factual. For now, here's the policy:

We're not going to talk about it save in the most roundabout terms. If it's real, it's protected intellectual property - not suitable for discussion AND rife with spoilers.

Anyway, we will be heavily suppressing all threads opened on the topic. Any posts containing links, including links to other sites discussing it, will be deleted. Any posts revealing anything that could be construed as a spoiler, regardless of how minor, will be deleted.

I know that some people have already posted, and had their posts deleted. I'm sorry that we needed to do that, and I also appreciate that most of such posts did not include spoilers. But as this is the forum inhabited by the biggest fans of The Witcher, we will be doing our best to keep it free from anything that may spoil the game for others.”

Update: Developer CD Projekt offered a statement regarding the recent leaked documents, which you can find here.
