New features available, old ones received notable updates

After two release candidates, the stable build for Wireshark 1.10 rolled out, bringing to the table new and updated features as well as repairs.

Compared to version 1.8, the new Wireshark comes with support for automatic updates for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. The binaries for Microsoft’s operating system ship with WinPcap 4.1.3, which supports Window s8.

Furthermore, two fields in a display filter can be compared and all Bluetooth profiles and protocols are supported. HTTP response times can now be calculated and displayed in a new field under HTTP response.

The functionality of the application has been improved as a referenced packet can now be opened in a new window for a better look.

Wireshark 1.10 represents a milestone in the development of the application since overall performance and functionality have been improved significantly. A full list with the changes can be found here.
