
Verizon Wireless and AirLink Communications announced that AirLink's line of rugged, intelligent modems are certified, and immediately available for use with Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service that runs on the company's Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) network.
AirLink's Raven-E and PinPoint-E intelligent modems are powered by the AirLink embedded operating system, ALEOS. The available Ethernet and digital interfaces enable a host of data-intensive, fixed and
mobile broadband applications. AirLink solutions are also well-suited for a number of machine-level fixed applications in a number of vertical markets including financial and professional services, retail and distribution, industrial and utilities. Through Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service, customers can benefit from the higher data rates offered by EV-DO technology, with typical download speeds from 400 to 700 Kbps.
Raven-E is an intelligent wireless gateway optimal for providing network connectivity for any high-reliability/ high-availability applications. As a standalone in-vehicle device, it enables AVL, fleet management, real-time dispatch and a host of mobile enterprise applications.
