Lexmark has just announced that its range of wireless printers is now available on the market. The series include printers with different capabilities, ranging from simple home use ones to complete all-in-one solutions.

The range includes printers from the X and Z lines, like the Z1480 single function color printer, X4580 all-in-one printer with a wide range of capabilities, Z1380 single function inkjet and X2580 and 3580 two in one printers. As Peter Duncombe, International Buying Director
at DSGi, one of Lexmark's partners, said to PCRetail, "wireless has become an essential purchase in the consumer technology market," and that "once considered something just for businesses, we're now seeing our whole spectrum of customers using wireless to deliver greater freedom and mobility in how they live and work within the home."

"Wireless networks are becoming increasingly common in the home, we well as in businesses. Because of the high price of existing wireless printers and the complexity of use, consumers have been slow to adopt wireless printing," said consumer printer division director at Lexmark, Marcus Harvey.

Lexmark printers seem to have a very good year indeed as, a short time ago, BLI and Better Buys for Business, which are independent reviewing groups for document imaging and printing, awarded top honors to several monochrome laser printers from the E line. BLI gave the "Pick of the Year" award to Lexmark E250dn, E352dn and E450dn, "three outstanding products" according to BLI. At the same time, Best Buy awarded Lexmark 350d, 352dn, 450dn for their speed, design and affordability in Better Buys 2007 Office Laser Printer Guide.

"The Lexmark E series provides exceptional value to users looking for high quality, reliable monochrome laser printing technology to help them be more productive," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "We are pleased this outstanding series of printers is receiving recognition from BLI and Better Buys for Business."
