For those phones that don't need power plugs to regain their energy

Wireless charging works by harnessing Wi-Fi signals and using them to restore the chemistry inside battery packs.

At present, the technology does not come with the benefits of distance. The phones, or whatever else, need to be very close to the chargers, to rest on them if possible.

That's why the chargers look like trays, pads or something similar, and the new wireless charger from Bosch is no exception.

What is unusual here is the scale. The Plugless Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging System recharges entire car batteries.

It is made for Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt automobiles, and manages to work even over a distance of a couple of feet.

The price is of $2,998 / €2,253 – 2,998 (Volt) and $3,098 / €2,327 – 2,998 (Leaf).

The product uses a wall-mounted control panel that provides electricity to a parking pad.

"The addition of the Plugless L2 System to our portfolio helps us provide our customers the most dynamic and innovative range of charging solutions available," said Tanvir Arfi, president, Bosch Automotive Service Solutions.
