GameFlood, premier online destination for playing and creating add-on video game content, has recently announced the winners for their $25,000 Mod and Map Making Contest. As the official report informs, the top 10 finalists in each of five major and two minor categories were initially nominated by the GameFlood community of members, with the winners in each category selected by a panel of industry expert judges. Winners will receive cash and other prizes as a result of making the finest mods and maps for their respective categories.

"There were an amazing number of mod and map submissions and our judges have been impressed with the overall quality and sophistication of the pieces," stated Matt Wisdom, CEO of GameFlood's parent company, Turbo Squid. "The winners of this contest are deserving artists who stood out as some of the best talent that the mod and map making industry has to offer. Congratulations go out to all of the winners, and everyone else who participated in this truly one of a kind event."
Winners for the major categories, will get cash and a Logitech keyboard valued at a total of $3,000, with second and third place receiving similar packages valued at $1,000 and $500, respectively. As for the mini-mod winners, they will each receive a cash and keyboard prize equaling $500 in value.

In particular, I was stunned to see how many people were clearly devoting huge amounts of time to turning games into entirely new experiences," said Graeme Bayless, President of Kush Games.
