On July 18, Alexandre Julliard announced the final version of the Wine app, which brought a huge number of bug fixes and improvements.

After months of lingering in the 1.5.x development version, the developers of Wine have jumped to 1.6.x and have announced the final version of 1.6, featuring a humongous changelog.

“This release represents 16 months of development effort and around 10,000 individual changes. The main highlights are the new Mac driver, the full support for window transparency, and the new Mono package for .NET applications support.”

“It also contains a lot of improvements across the board, as well as support for many new applications and games,” reads the announcement.

More details about this release can be found in the official changelog.
