Wine 1.3.37, a new development version of the famous framework used to run Windows applications on Linux, has been announced by Alexandre Julliard, the leader of the Wine project.

This latest version represents an important milestone in the development of Wine (Wine Is Not an Emulator). Most of the recent updates had improvements in DIB engine, but now the developers of Wine have reported the completion of the DIB engine.

Wine 1.3.37 also delivers improvements in the C++ runtime and fixes for some audio drivers. A couple of redundant Direct3D options were also removed from WineCfg and the built-in Internet Explorer received some updates.

A few games also got some fixes in Wine 1.3.37: Tarr Chronicles now starts properly, World of Warcraft launcher no longer crashes, Super Meat Boy has functional sound, Starcraft doesn't crash on exist, and the sound effects in Homefront are working as they should.
