Microsoft will roll out five different security bulletins on this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle, with Windows XP to receive the penultimate update of its life before getting discontinued next month.

Windows XP is among the operating systems that will get patched tomorrow, as Microsoft has found critical security flaws in Internet Explorer versions running on this particular OS version.

According to Microsoft’s very own security advisory, Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 will both get updates supposed to fix Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8 vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to access user data.

Windows XP remains one of the top operating systems these days, with a market share of 29 percent despite the retirement scheduled to take place on April 8.

Microsoft, of course, continues its campaign to move users to a newer platform with the help of notifications displayed right on the desktop and recommending everyone still running this OS version to upgrade to newer software as soon as possible.

At the same time, the company is also offering a free data migration solution in case you opt for Windows 8.1, promising to offer assistance in case you get in trouble when trying to set up your new computer running the modern operating system.
