Want to know exactly what will Windows Vista bring extra to your desktop compared to Windows XP? How about if we narrow it down? Let's just compare Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista Business editions. The images included at the bottom deliver a visual representation of the differences between XP Processional and Vista Business. In this regard, you will notice that the features that are shared by the two operating systems are not mentioned in particular.

The images at the bottom focus instead on what Windows Vista Business delivers on top of Windows XP Professional. In this context, all the features that are marked with the blue check sign are new to Windows Vista Business.

Automated Backup, Anti-spyware tool and the User Account Control are some of the new security and backup capabilities that were not previously available in Windows XP. The Sidebar, the Aero interface and the Automated Help are designed to increase efficiency and productivity. The new Sync and Mobility Centers and the Windows Meeting Space mark the evolution of the mobility and networking capabilities in Vista Business. Windows ReadyBoost, Windows SuperFetch and the new code base increase the performance and reliability of the operating system.

Additionally, there are features that are available in Windows XP Professional but that have been enhanced in Windows Vista Business. Such features are marked by the blue circle for XP and by the green ball for Vista. The Firewall, File Protection, the Search capabilities, Internet Explorer, Network support, Remote Desktop, Maximum RAM supported and the Setup have all evolved in Vista Business. For the rest I'll let the pictures do the talking.
