Netrunner 13.12, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Kubuntu 13.10, featuring KDE as the default desktop environment and integrating many GNOME/GTK+ programs to make it Ubuntu-compatible, has been released.

The Netrunner 13.12 distribution is based on Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and Debian core. The end result is a distribution that's very similar to a Windows environment and that differs entirely from its inspiration.

Highlights of Netrunner 13.12:

• The Kicker Menu (Super/Windows/Meta-Key to invoke) has been added; • The Taskbar is now able to extend and features Drag'n'Drop support; • A sidebar panel has been added (show/hide with F11 or mouse swipe); • Mouse Swipes are now supported; • A new desktop theme has been added; • KDE 4.11.2, Firefox 25, VLC 2.1.1, Skype 4.2, and many more packages have been implemented.
