Windows Vista and Office 2007 Crucial Assets

For health plans and the securities industry

Microsoft envisions its main cash cows at the core of the securities industry and the evolution of health plans. In this context, Windows Vista and the Office 2007 System are inherently associated with products delivered for the capital markets and the healthcare industries. Vista and Office 2007 will integrate seamlessly with the Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003, the high-performance computing edition of Windows Server 2003, and the Microsoft Connected Health Framework for Health Plans.

"These new versions of Windows and Microsoft Office will benefit health plans by simplifying

how employees and customers communicate, helping to protect sensitive information and amplifying the impact of people, teams and partners. Because Windows Vista and 2007 Office system can help streamline the collection of data and eliminate the barriers between clinical systems, they will play a significant role in making information easily and instantly accessible to end-users working for health plan organizations," revealed Dennis Schmuland, health plans industry solutions director, U.S. Health and Life Sciences Group at Microsoft.

"Customers within securities and the other financial services industries have shown strong interest in the release of Windows Vista and the 2007 Office system. Through research and collaborative development with industry partners and customers, Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System were designed to address the unique business challenges associated with financial services. Excel 2007 and Excel Services are the core products for the capital markets space. By combining Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) built upon a Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003, capital markets firms can create a modeling platform utilizing the most widely used spreadsheet on Wall Street," stated Craig Saint-Amour, capital markets industry solutions director, U.S. Financial Services Group at Microsoft.

Saint-Amour added that one of the key elements that Windows Vista will deliver to the securities industry is �security. Schmuland instead revealed that security is intimately connected with customer privacy. In this context, Windows Vista is yet again applauded as an apex of security. But this is not all, Schmuland also emphasized the increase in the communications and collaboration process in infrastructures based on Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Microsoft Exchange 2007. Ultimately, health plans rely on a continuous flow of information, and Microsoft promises that Vista and Office 2007 will sustain high levels of data sharing while enforcing high levels of privacy and security.
