Windows Vista Ultimate (RED) Climbs to the Top of the World

- Together with Everest Team INSPI(RED)

By: Marius Oiaga, Technology News Editor

Windows Vista Ultimate the (RED) edition is currently climbing to the top of the world together with the Everest Team INSPI(RED). The Executive Producer and General Manager at MSN is part of a team of mountain climbers that are making their way toward the peak of Everest, in an effort to raise awareness of Product (RED). The initiative is designed to gather financial resources
from the public sector in order to sponsor medical treatment for people living with HIV and AIDS in Africa. Microsoft joined up with (RED) at the end of January 2008 together with Dell, and produced a custom (RED) version of its high end SKU of Windows Vista.

"Jeff Dossett, Executive Producer and General Manager at MSN, is doing something amazing. He, and two other elite mountaineers, are heading up to the summit of Mt. Everest build awareness of (PRODUCT) RED and to inspire individuals to do amazing things. Windows is an Official Sponsor of this expedition along with Dell, MSN, MSNBC.com and several supporting partners. A Windows Live Space has been set up called Everest Team INSPI(RED) for you to show your support for their endeavor and to follow their journey with blog posts, photos and videos. You will also be able to sign the guestbook and share your personal inspirations," stated Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc.

At the bottom of this article you will find an embedded video featuring Dossett, in which he explains the motivation of Everest Team INSPI(RED). Along with Dossett, Everest Team INSPI(RED) features Dave Morton and Melissa Arnot. The profiles of the team members are available here.

"Over the past 11 days, we have been slowly trekking from Lukla at 9000 feet to Everest Base Camp at about 17,600 feet to acclimatize our bodies to these higher altitudes. Having now reached base camp at the foot of the infamous Khumbu Ice Fall, we now officially transition our endeavor from a culture-rich trek to full-on mountain climbing expedition," revealed Jeff Dossett and Melissa Arnot.
