Friday 30 March 2007 was Jenny Lam's last day with the Redmond Company. For those of you that haven't been keeping their eyeballs on Softpedia, Jenny Lam was the Creative Lead on the MSX design team over at Microsoft. "Friday was Jenny Lam's last day at Microsoft. Over the years we worked with her she was tireless promoter of good typography in Windows, and she'll be missed. We wish her the best of luck in the future," informed an announcement posted on Microsoft Typography.

And that's it. Microsoft failed to deliver any reasons for Jenny Lam's departure. Lam herself did not provide any explanation for parting ways with the Redmond Company. However, even if Lam is not longer a Redmondian, her work will live on and become ubiquitous.

In March, Windows Vista has passed the 2% market share milestone and Market Share by Net Applications revealed that the adoption rate of Microsoft's latest operating system has accelerated compared to the first month of commercial availability.

And it is in Windows Vista that you will be able to see the greatest extent of Jenny Lam's work. In fact, Lam was actively involved in designing extensive aspects of the operating system from the packaging to the graphical user interface. Lam also worked on the Aurora wallpaper, on the Start Pearl, on the icons and hand picked the images that serve as the default wallpapers for Windows Vista.

You can head over at Channel 9 and access a great interview with Lam. You will be able to get an insight on the world inside the MSX design experience.
