Windows Vista Security Guide

SHARE:

Adjust text size:

Windows Vista Security Guide enables two alternative baseline security configurations for desktop and laptop computers running Vista in domains with the Active Directory service. IT Professionals
will be able to tap not only specific recommendations but also automated tools to bulletproof Windows Vista against security threats. "Windows Vista Security Guide is designed to provide comprehensive vulnerability, risk, and mitigation analyses to help you understand the tradeoffs between security and functionality," Kelly Hengesteg, Senior Program Manager Microsoft Security & Compliance Solutions.

The GPOAccelerator tool included in this Solution Accelerator permits the efficient establishment of the Enterprise Client (EC) environment or the Specialized Security - Limited Functionality (SSLF) environment. The first is designed as a more general security solution while the Specialized Security - Limited Functionality (SSLF) security configuration is recommended only in the detriment of functionality.

"The security recommendations in the Windows Vista Security Guide have been validated through extensive testing. And the GPO Accelerator tool that accompanies the guidance helps you automatically deploy the security settings in minutes instead of hours," added Hengesteg.
