Remote controls and receivers for Vista

Philips has unveiled a complete range of remote controls and receivers designed to integrate seamlessly with Windows Vista, and is inviting users to ensure that they are prepared for the complete experience the latest operating system from Microsoft has to offer.

The RC1974501/00, RC1974502/00 and RC1974603/00 (the first image) remote control models feature similar designs but have added functionality, from a basic remote control to backlight and advanced IR learning backlight capabilities.

The three RC1974501/00, RC1974502/00 and RC1974603/00 models have been designed with Windows Vista Media Center new 10' UI in mind, being WLP Windows Vista Premium ready and having the Microsoft-recommended RC6 IR protocol incorporated. Additionally, they feature white back-lighted keys and TV Standby & Volume Learnable keys.

In the second image you are able to see the RC1534522/00 and RC1762401/00 remote control models. RC1534522/00 is the one on the left with the black design is an enhanced device for Windows Vista Media Center new 10' UI, also with WLP Windows Vista Premium ready and the Microsoft-recommended RC6 IR protocol. Additional specifications from Phillips include: "localized IME solution for Global Market: with or without TELETEXT, language versions include Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Russian & others."

The RC1762401/00 model represented by the two remote controls on the left has been developed for notebooks and laptops with Windows Vista MCE. They also are WLP Windows Vista Premium ready and incorporate the Microsoft-recommended RC6 IR protocol. Phillips failed to mention the exact date when it expects the PC Express Card Remote to be delivered.

The third image features the RF version RC1974503/00 (on the left) and the IR/RF version TINO SRM7500/xx on the right. The first is a RF remote & USB RF receiver (input only) that is still to be released, the only clue delivered by Phillips as to the date being: "coming soon for Windows Vista," and the latter is a 2-way remote control, also expected to come soon. While the first is a basic remote, but with added functionality such as support for the Philips USB stick RF receiver and Microsoft HID class compliance, the TINO SRM7500/xx model comes complete with: "Navigating & controlling music playback on the remote control LCD without turning on the screen, Worldwide 2.4GHz RF for 1-way MCE control & 2-way music control, Universal & Learnable IR with intuitive setup for legacy CE device control and is Windows Vista SideShow(basic device) ready".

Phillips will also launch Windows VistaBeanbag OVU412000/00 (USB IR transceiver), Windows Vista Snowflake OVU411000/00 (USB IR receiver - input only) and Windows VistaBeanBagModule OVU413000/00 (USB IR transceiver module). Here is a list of features, either common or specific:
