Well, this has been around for a while, but I have just come across it and I thought I would let you know. There is an easy and effortless way of test driving Windows Vista in order to get an idea of
what the operating system has to offer if the $500 million Microsoft Wow marketing campaign has failed to convince you. And that is through a TechNet Virtual Lab for Windows Vista. Following the RTM of the operating system, Microsoft has updated the Vista Virtual Labs.

"The newest desktop operating system from Microsoft, Windows Vista includes advancements in security and reliability, along with increased cost and operational efficiencies. For the IT professional, Windows Vista is easier to deploy, and less expensive to maintain, than any earlier version of Windows. And for users, Windows Vista's improved performance and reliability add value by allowing people to be more effective while performing their jobs. Explore for yourself the improved security, management and productivity by experiencing Windows Vista in the Virtual Labs," reads a fragment of Microsoft's invitation to test the operating system.

Via Virtual Labs you will be able to access an extensive collection of testing modules, each addressing another theme. In order to test-drive Vista in a Virtual Lab all you will have to do is to sign up. There is no installation required, no download or setup. You don't have to concern yourself with driver compatibility and system resources, but a broadband Internet connection is preferable.

Microsoft has even increased the duration of the lab sessions from 60 to 90 minutes for each of the modules available. Browse with enhanced security, Better Protection from Malware, Built-in Diagnostics, Instantly Search and Find Information, Improved and Automated Help Options, Set up and Connect to Networks with Simplicity, Easily Manage your Data Synchronization, Improve your PC's Power Management and Collaborate in Small Groups Anywhere, Anytime are among the Windows Vista Virtual Lab sessions that you can access at no charge.
