Do you want more control over the Windows Vista boot logo? Are you discontent with the default boot logo in Vista? Do you want to personalize the boot logo in Microsoft's latest operating system? Then Windows Vista Boot Generator version 1.1 is the right piece of software for you.

Windows Vista Boot Logo Generator v1.1 is still in its beta phase and - as such - the product still presents a couple of glitches. In fact, the developers have even posted a warning: "IMPORTANT: It's still beta and there may be bugs so use at your own risk, and make sure you backup first!"

The initial release of Vista Boot Logo Generator v1.1 created, on occasion, blank screens during Vista boot instead of displaying the custom logo. The developer revealed that the product has since then been updated for and that this issue has been resolved.

The blank boot screen was not the only issue fixed with the update, and Vista Boot Logo Generator 1.1 comes now with additional features. "Vista is quite picky about the format of your source BMPs, so the images are now being processed internally by the tool so that they behave. You can now also drag and drop your images directly onto the application to save a few clicks," explained the developer.

In order to replace the default Windows Vista logo you must first produce 24-bit images and save them as the BMP format in two different dimensions: 800?600 and 1024?768. Then, via the Vista Boot Logo Generator 1.1 browse for the images and select File - Save Boot Screen File as... in order to generate the logo file. In order for this to work users will have to copy/paste the resulting file to "%windir%System32en-US.

Vista Boot Logo Generator 1.1 Beta was tested by Softpedia as being 100% Free and is available for download here.
