Windows Users Require Separate Downloads to Use iCloud

iCloud is not only compatible with iOS and Mac OS, but also Windows, the most wide-spread desktop operating system on the planet.

To use iCloud, Windows PC owners need to download a certain “iCloud Control Panel for Windows” which delivers support for Photo Stream, Contacts and Calendars.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later is required. However, to have an iCloud account in the first place, Windows users still need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 5. Customers can also create an iCloud account on a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.2.

Safari 5.1.1 is also a requirement for Windows PC iCloud customers. Alternately, users can go with Internet Explorer 8. The new suite of cloud services runs on Microsoft Windows Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 only.
