Windows Threshold is supposed to be the codename of the highly-anticipated Windows 9, a new version of Microsoft’s operating system that’s expected to be launched in early 2015.

Even though Microsoft hasn’t provided any specifics on this new release, designers around the world have created modern interpretations that could give users an idea over the way the new OS version could look like.

p0isonParadise, the one who has already created several other Windows 9 concepts, has designed this so-called Windows Codenamed Threshold artwork that’s based on visual elements of Windows Vista and Windows 8.1.

It features Aero effects, a Start Menu with transparency, Metro apps running on the desktop and pinned to the taskbar, and a top sidebar that can be locked.

Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that this is what Windows 9 is going to look like, but it’s still a good way to find out what people actually expect from the new operating system.
