IT professionals leveraging Microsoft’s automated solution for update distribution based on Windows Server now have updated documentation available.
The content for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) was refreshed, and can be accessed by administrators on TechNet.
No less than five of the guides posted on TechNet feature updated content, with the software giant introducing changes to the documentation offered for WSUS deployment, operations, migration, usage and the technical reference.
According to the software giant, the refresh was introduced as a response to input provided by IT pros using WSUS.

“Yesterday we published an updated version of WSUS 3 SP2 documentation with some changes that were included to reflect customer’s feedback about the product and documentation,” Microsoft
stated.
With the release of Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2, WSUS embraced the latest release of Windows Server, namely Windows Server 2008 R2, including support for features such as BranchCache.
Of course, WSUS 3.0 SP2 is also designed to play nice with computers running Microsoft’s latest Windows client, Windows 7.
“Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) enables information technology administrators to deploy the latest Microsoft product updates to computers that are running the Windows operating system. By using WSUS, administrators can fully manage the distribution of updates that are released through Microsoft Update to computers in their network,” Microsoft revealed.
The Windows Server Update Services site on TechNet contains a varied collection of documentation that IT pros can use free of charge.
