Microsoft has launched a new discount program called “Kick-it,” catalyzed by the summer of football (2010 football World Cup in South Africa), an initiative designed to help children play through donations made for customers buying Windows Server hosting. The software giant collaborates with 11 hosting partners worldwide for Kick-it, and is looking to donate at least $100,000 to Right To Play. The campaign was kicked off on May 18 and will allow customers to buy Windows Server hosting and generate donations for Right To Play over the course of the next couple of months.

“For each ‘Kick It’ promotion-eligible purchase made by a participating hosting partner by July 15, Microsoft will donate $50 (USD) to Right To Play’s efforts to benefit children in war-torn countries and areas of distress by means of the therapeutic outlet provided with sports and play, such as Right To Play’s Football Development Program benefitting the children of Africa. In addition to Microsoft’s contribution, each of the hosting partners participating in the Windows Server ‘Kick It’ program will make a separate donation to Right To Play,” the Redmond company revealed.

This is a chance for customers looking to buy Windows server hosting for their Cloud projects to also help disadvantaged children worldwide. The Kick-It discounts are available only in Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US.

Right To Play is the leading international humanitarian and development organization using the transformative power of sport and play to build critical life skills in children and thereby driving social change in communities affected by war, poverty and disease. Working in 23 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America, Right To Play creates a safe place for children to learn and foster the hope that is essential for children to envision and realize a better future,” Microsoft noted.
