Well, I'm sure that if you have installed Internet Explorer 7 you have come across the Windows Search Guide. It is a new feature introduced as an integer part of Instant Search in IE7, accessible
via the IE7 Instant Search drop down menu. The Windows Search Guide enables the customization of the native search provider in the browser. "The providers displayed in the Windows Search Guide are the most popular for each region based on 3rd party website traffic data. Over time these providers will be updated to reflect the most up-to-date popularity," explained Jane Maliouta, IE Program Manager.
Moreover, if you are not content with the extensive list of search engines made available via the Windows Search Guide, IE gives you the possibility of adding custom search providers to Instant Search. The Create Your Own option delivers increased flexibility, while IE7 supports a wide range of search providers.
"So far, we've released the Windows Search Guide in the following localized versions: Japanese, German, Spanish, French, English–North America, English–International, and English-United Kingdom. For those of you who are waiting for the final localized versions of IE7 to be released, the available search guides also work with RC1," said Maliouta, adding that the Localized Search guides will be updated concomitantly with the release of additional localized versions of IE7.
