The application is reportedly being built by Microsoft themselves

Owners of Windows Phone-based devices will soon get a taste of the Instagram application that is already highly popular among Android and iOS users, a recent report suggests.

Sources from Microsoft have already confirmed the development of this application, a recent article on The Verge reads. The software should land before year’s end, yet no specific release date for it has been provided as of yet.

However, it appears that the application has been already spotted in the promo video that Nokia published last week or Lumia 920’s PureMotion touchscreen display.

Apparently, it is not being built by Instagram themselves (the company was acquired by Facebook not long ago), which suggests that Microsoft might be the one developing it, the same way it came up with Twitter and Facebook apps for the Windows Phone platform.
