With less than a day until iPhone 6’s official announcement, many mobile phone users are wondering if the smartphone Apple will reveal is really worth switching to.

There will always be a percentage of Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Android users who are willing to replace their smartphones with the new iPhone. However, while some operating systems have loyal consumers, others don’t seem to manage to keep their fans interested enough.

CNET reports that research company Survata, an important firm whose services have been employed by many brands in the Fortune 100 top, has just released the results of an analysis that offers a glimpse of the degree of loyalty these mobile platforms get from their fans in light of the iPhone 6 launch.

Said survey involved exactly 889 persons and was carried out between September 2 and 4, the only question being whether or not they would be willing to switch to Apple’s iPhone 6.

Those questioned were also asked what device they were using and how likely they were to replace their current smartphones with an iPhone 6.

According to the survey, only 5% of Android users said they were “very likely” to switch to iPhone 6 when the smartphone went on sale, while 12.4% of Google’s platform fans stated they were “somewhat likely” to turn to Apple’s upcoming product.

Only 6% of BlackBerry users claim they are likely to switch to iPhone 6

The “somewhat likely” syntagm depends on how stunning the iPhone 6 will look like and probably what specs it will offer. Overall, it means that about 17.4% of Android users might be willing to switch to iPhone 6 if the upcoming device ticks all the requirements.

The least interested in switching to iPhone 6 seem to be Windows Phone users. Microsoft does indeed seem to have the most loyal fan base with only 3% of them considering the iPhone 6 for their next smartphone.

Even BlackBerry had some fans responding to this survey, and according to the numbers mentioned in Survata’s reveal, only 6% are likely to replace their business smartphones with an iPhone 6.

As expected, the highest percentage of people who are likely to go for the iPhone 6 as soon as it goes on sale is composed of iPhone 5 owners (36%). Not surprising at all, only 18% of iPhone 5s and 15% of iPhone 5c users would be willing to switch to the new model.

It’s also worth mentioning that Survata’s survey has a 3.3% margin of error, but that should not affect the numbers reported by the company too much.
