Microsoft has started to push out a new software update for the Windows Phone devices out there, so as to fix a series of issues that users have been experiencing lately.

The update is said to have already emerged on LG Optimus 7 mobile phones on Vodafone’s network, and it is being delivered as OS version 7.10.8107.79. However, it appears that the new software is meant for all Windows Phone 7.5 devices.

The update is meant to solve issues that handsets have been experiencing with the onscreen keyboard. At times, it would disappear when typing.

At the same time, the update is meant to resolve a bug that affected the messaging application in Windows Phone.

When a specific message was received, either via SMS or from Windows Live Messenger, the messaging app crashed. It would not start after restarting the smartphone, and required a hard reset to become operational again.

Although no official announcement on the availability of this software update emerged, Plaffo managed to grab the changelog for it:

- It solves a problem of the keyboard on the screen, preventing the keyboard to disappear while typing - Resolves an issue with syncing Gmail - It solves a problem of access to the location. After the upgrade, the function IO hub sends to Microsoft anonymous information contact the Wi-Fi access points and antennas for mobile phones in the vicinity, only if you have allowed access to and use of location information from part of the "I’m here." - Revocation of certificates issued by DigiCert Sdn Bhd to solve a problem of encryption - Fixes a problem with the e-mail related to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. When you reply to or forward an email, the original message is now included in the response. - Fixes an issue of notification of voicemail

The new Build 8107 was also spotted as being available for manual updates. The guys over at Mobility Digest came up with a download package and with instructions on how to install it. But as the tool could void warranty, users are advised to wait for the official update to be pushed to them.
