Microsoft has finally listed on its website details regarding the latest update on its Windows Phone handsets.
Called Windows Phone
Tango, the software arrives on devices as update 7.10.8773.98, providing users with a better experience on the go.
On its official support website
for the Windows Phone platform, Microsoft is currently listing all the necessary details on what the upcoming OS upgrade will have to offer.
This is not a major update for the company’s platform, but it still has a series of enhancements that are certain to make a lot of Windows Phone owners rejoice.
Here’s what users should expect: Messaging. Adds new messaging capabilities to your phone. You can now attach multiple pictures, videos, audio notes and ringtones to text messages.
SIM card. Adds features related to SIM card contacts. You can now export phone contacts to a SIM card and selectively import SIM card contacts to your phone.
Other quality improvements. Includes many other improvements to Windows Phone.
However, the Redmond-based software giant also notes that the update won’t be available for all users in all markets around the world.
Tango is the same software that was loaded on latest WP handsets out there, and which is currently being pushed to the Nokia Lumia 900 handsets on European shelves.
The company did promise that the update would be released for more of its users, but it did not offer specific info on the matter for the time being.
All that Microsoft said was that it was in talks with wireless carriers to ensure that the update would be delivered to existing users as soon as possible.
Until now, however, the software giant did not offer specific info on when the software would start landing on devices.
However, based on how things went with other similar updates, we should expect for several weeks to pass before it is ready to reach most users.
