It took Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace about four months to reach 80,000 apps submitted, after the store exceeded the 50,000 apps barrier back in December.

AAWP reports that as of April 1st, Windows Phone Marketplace has 82,234 apps, 20,327 developers, whilst the proportion of quality apps (rated five or more times) is stable at 8%.

However, out of the 82,234 apps submitted in the Marketplace, around 9,500 apps are no longer available for download, as they were removed by Microsoft or by the developers.

It is also worth mentioning that some of these apps are only available in selected markets, so the total number of apps in the Marketplace may be different for some Windows Phone users.

It is expected that Windows Phone Marketplace will surpass the 100,000 apps milestone within the next two months.
