Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace is now accepting app submissions from Software developers in more markets around the world.

The company already announced plans to open the App Hub to devs in more countries, and is now officially allowing them to submit their software for approval to the storefront.

The portal currently features over 70,000 applications for users to download and install on their devices, and has also been made available for people in additional countries in the past months.

Developers, start your engines. App Hub is now open for submissions in the new markets I mentioned in my last post. If you haven’t done so already, I recommend taking a moment to submit your apps,” Microsoft’s Todd Brix notes in a blog post.

“It’s a chance to put them in front of new customers and get a jump on the competition in these new stores.”

App builders interested in taking advantage of the opportunities that the new Marketplace expansion provides can easily submit their software to multiple countries.

“Just visit App Hub and select the individual markets—or choose “worldwide” (even if you’ve done this before) to make them available everywhere. Here are the step-by-step instructions,” Brix explains.

Before making the move, however, developers should keep in mind that some of these new markets are subject to additional certification requirements, mainly due to local laws or norms.

Moreover, they should know that it now takes up to 7 days for applications to get certified and published in these markets.

According to Microsoft, there are many new apps submitted for approval, and this is the main reason for which the process is taking so long. Those who would want their software available in the storefront on a specific day should keep that in mind.

The new customer stores are bound to open soon, and Microsoft will offer some more info on the matter as the schedule is final.
