Windows Phone 7.8, the platform upgrade all devices currently running under Windows Phone 7.5 are set to receive soon, has been detailed once again.

Some of the main enhancements included in this OS flavor will involve changes to the homescreen, which will look more like the one available in Windows Phone 8, and less like the older one.

There will also be access to various Microsoft services, such as Xbox Music Store library (with Zune and Xbox SmartGlass) and calendar sharing capabilities, it seems.

The platform upgrade will arrive on user’s handsets after the commercial availability of Windows Phone 8, a Facebook post from Windows Phone Italia reads.

Unfortunately, no specific release date for the platform update has been provided, yet some of the latest reports on the matter suggested that it might actually take a while before it is delivered.
