Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system is gaining more market share in various countries around the world, and appears to have already managed to top sales charts in Finland, Nokia’s homeland market.

According to a recent report coming from market research firm Marketvision, the platform accounted for 35 percent smartphone sales in the country recently, thus becoming the leading mobile OS there.

Google’s Android operating system is accounted for 33 percent of sales, while Apple’s iOS was pushed to the third position with only 30 percent share, it seems.

Furthermore, the report shows that Windows Phone grabbed around 50 percent of sales in the enterprise segment, which shows that it is indeed strengthening its position on the market.

Nokia’s Lumia smartphones are said to have helped the platform gain so much traction in Finland, especially the affordable handsets in the series, as WMPoweruser notes.
