Owners of Windows Phone-powered handsets interested in enjoying streamed access to movies, TV series and other type of videos can now take advantage of the features and capabilities of a new application, namely Crackle.

The software has just made it to the Windows Phone Marketplace, providing users with free access to a wide range of popular titles.

Pineapple Express, Bug Daddy, Joe Dirt, Layer Cake, Mr. Deeds, Panic Room, S.W.A.T., and Snatch are only some of the movies that Windows Phone users can now watch straight on their devices.

These and hundreds more movies are available for them uncut, full-length and free, complemented by a variety of top-rated TV series like Seinfeld.

Not only is the application available for a free download, but titles are also free to watch. 20 new movies and TV episodes are being added monthly, and users benefit from unlimited, on demand viewing.

Windows Phone owners who will download and install the new application will be able to choose titles from genres such as action, comedy, crime, horror, thriller, sci-fi and anime.

They will also have the possibility to build and manage Watchlists for viewing on the app or online at Crackle.com.

High quality streaming of videos is available on 3G and 4G networks, as well as via WiFi. The downside is that the software works only in the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Users should know that data charges might apply when streaming videos. Thus, it is recommended to have an unlimited data plan, especially if people plan on using the app over mobile networks.

“Crackle is one of the fastest growing digital entertainment networks, offering quality movies and TV series from Columbia Pictures, Tri-Star, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Classics and more. Crackle is available via web, mobile, gaming systems and set-top boxes,” the company notes.

The Crackle mobile application requires Windows Phone 7.5 or higher to work. Users can find it in the Windows Phone Marketplace via this link.
