Developers planning on launching software for the Windows Phone operating system will be happy to learn that Microsoft has reduced certification times for applications even more.

In a recent post on the Windows Phone Developer Blog, the company announced that a new streamlined workflow has been rolled out recently, and that it will result in certification times being reduced to less than a day.

The company also notes that the change was applied based on the feedback received from the Windows Phone developer community.

“Over the past few weeks we have been rolling out the new streamlined workflow as we prepare for the next stage of growth and scale. While still in the early in the roll out, we’ve seen turn-around time of less than one day and in some cases just one hour,” the Redmond-based giant announced.

At the same time, Microsoft notes that it also implemented a better approach to delivering certification results following the aforementioned change.

“In place of the standard PDF attachment, developers will now receive an email notification indicating testing is complete with App Review results available on their Dev Center Dashboard - keeping all important app information in one easy to access location,” Microsoft notes.

“We’ve also updated the format to make the results easier to read and included your app icon for instant identification, to help those of you who have multiple apps.”

Developers are also encouraged to have a look at the enhanced app download and in-app purchase file exports that are available in the Dashboard now.

They have been updated with elements such as app version, language, age group, gender, phone manufacturer, and mobile operator, so that developers will receive more user insight.

“Please note it will take several more weeks to roll out the changes and get the entire Windows Phone community onto the new workflow. Thank you for your patience while we make the transition,” the company also notes.
