Owners of devices running under Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system are reporting various issues with their devices, including random reboots, some occurring on the same device quite often.

Some of these issues have been spotted on Nokia Lumia 920 by users in Germany, but it seems that this is not the only device affected by it.

In fact, many owners of the new Windows Phone 8X by HTC are also reporting similar issues with their smartphones.

Some users claim sudden reboots of their devices even when it is not doing anything, others have experienced the issue when launching different core applications.

According to some of these people, while the device behaves normally for days even, chances are that it would reboot on its own several times within hours.

Furthermore, some Nokia Lumia 920 owners also claim that they’ve seen their devices freezing unexpectedly. Only a hard reset was capable of making the smartphone respond to user interaction again.

However, it should be noted that not all those who have purchased a new Windows Phone 8 device report having issues with it. In fact, there are some saying that the phone works great event with multiple applications running on it.

Those who would like to learn more on the various rebooting issues with HTC’s 8X or Nokia’s Lumia 920 should head over to this page on Microsoft’s support website. Some more info on the freezing issues of Nokia’s device are available on the company’s support pages.

As for the battery life of these handsets, The Verge suggests that the tap + send (NFC) feature of Lumia 920 appears to be affecting it in a negative way. Others suggest that apps like Nokia Drive might also drain battery fast when running in the background.

However, it’s yet uncertain to what extent these features, apps and services are affecting the performance of Lumia 920’s battery and whether this is indeed a widespread issue.
