Nokia has confirmed that the update won’t arrive until early February 2013

Nokia and Microsoft have just released the first Windows Phone 8 update for some of the smartphones, namely the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820.

Unfortunately, the update that promises to bring some improvements to the camera and messaging is only available in the United States and Canada.

AT&T and Rogers customers that own the Lumia 920 can now update their devices OTA (over the air), while the rest of Windows Phone 8 fans owning any of the two models will receive it in early February 2013, Nokia claims.

However, the folks over at MyNokiaBlog have just learned that the same update has appeared on NaviFirm. Sadly, this is only available for the Nokia Lumia 820.

All in all, it will be interesting to see whether Nokia will be able to push the Windows Phone 8 update earlier than expected, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
