Owners of a Windows Phone 8X by HTC smartphone on Telstra’s network in Australia can now download and install a new software update on their devices, namely Windows Phone 8 Portico.

According to a recent post on auswinphone.com, users have already started to receive the update on their handsets, although Telstra hasn’t updated its support website to reflect that. However, the company did announce the release several weeks ago, it seems.

As WMPoweruser notes, Telstra still has to make Portico available for its Nokia Lumia 920 users, something that might happen in about two weeks or so.

On HTC 8X, the update should resolve the random reboots issue that had been hitting users before, and will also bring new Wi-Fi settings, along with the option to respond to calls with text.
