A new application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone 8 devices, namely Reading Lens.

Just as its name suggests, the new app takes advantage of the phone’s camera, and can help users read small text. It will magnify small print, making text much easier to read when needed.

It was based on the popular Reading Glasses app for Windows Phone 7, and comes with features such as pinch to zoom and tap to focus.

Furthermore, it will also enable users to light “the lamp” (the handset’s flash) for dark locations such as restaurants, and can lock on a single image through a pause camera feature.

The application can also be used as a flashlight, and has been made available for download for free through the official Windows Phone Store.
