Calls and messages from specific numbers could be blocked thanks to these APIs

Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has made some interesting changes to the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 emulator code, it seems, with brand new APIs found inside it when compared to the original WP8 emulator.

Apparently, the new developer tool comes with an API designed for call and SMS blocking and filtering, which should provide the option to block specific phone numbers, or phone calls from unknown or private numbers.

Furthermore, the option could be applied to SMS messages, which should sound like a great new feature for those who want to prevent people from spamming them with texts.

As WMPoweruser notes, the feature can be turned on or off by wireless carriers, yet no specific interface for these APIs has been spotted on devices that already run under the GDR2 update. However, chances are that third-party developers will still have access to them.
