Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new software update for its Windows Phone 8 devices, one that might sport the codename of Apollo+.
Previous rumors on this OS version suggested that it might arrive on devices with VPN support, a fix for Wi-Fi connections and various other improvements, and new details on the matter are not available.
According to a recent post on Reddit (via Neowin), the new software update might also bring along support for more file types, including .GIF and .WAV.
The info reportedly comes from a Microsoft employee, yet it is nothing more than a rumor for the time being, so we should take it with a grain of salt.
Apollo+ is said to be en-route to devices in the first quarter of the next year, so stay tuned for more on it.
