Windows Phone 8.1, the next major flavor of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, is expected to start arriving on existing devices in the second quarter of the next year, a new rumor suggests.

The platform is said to be officially introduced in the beginning of the next year, and rumor has it that all current Windows Phone 8 devices will receive it in the first half of 2014.

In fact, a recent tweet from Nawzil suggests that the second quarter of the next year will be the lucky timeframe for WP8 users.

Furthermore, said user mentions the Lumia Black update, which should arrive in the first quarter of 2014, most probably as another major software update from the Finnish mobile phone maker.

Unfortunately, no official confirmation on any of these has been provided as of now, so we’ll take the info with a grain of salt for the time being.
