The digital personal assistant from Microsoft was found to have an Easter Egg

Cortana, the digital personal assistant that Windows Phone 8.1, the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, was launched with, has an Easter Egg packed inside, it seems.

If you discover it, you’ll be able to have Clippy, the popular assistant from Microsoft Office, available on your device, replacing Cortana.

In fact, it won’t fully replace the Windows Phone 8.1 feature, but it will show Clippy on the screen, whereas the engine behind the icon will remain the same, namely the Cortana that Microsoft made official in early April.

The feature was discovered by Windows Phone Forum member Ceez, who asked Cortana what she thought of Clippy. "He taught me how important it is to listen," the digital assistant responded, and its image was replaced with a modern Clippy.

As WPCentral notes, the Easter Egg might prove quite amusing to many, especially to those who met Clippy back in the day.

Those of you who got the chance to download and install the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview and also have Cortana on your devices might want to give this one a try, just to see how it goes. Let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
