HTC has been hit with a few technical difficulties

HTC 8X owners who purchased their smartphones through Verizon’s official retail channels are still waiting for their promised Windows Phone 8.1 update, which was supposed to arrive sometime in October.

Although we’re less than a week into November, Verizon is still mum on the matter. While Sprint and HTC have recently announced that the 8XT is already receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 update, Verizon’s 8X smartphone is likely to have the update delayed.

In fact, it is delayed due to the fact that it didn’t arrive last month as specified by HTC. But the bad news doesn’t stop here as the Taiwanese company announced that the long-awaited Windows Phone 8.1 update for Verizon HTC 8X wouldn’t be coming too soon.

Even though the handset maker isn’t too specific on the kind of issues it has been hit with, HTC has confirmed it will take some time until Windows Phone 8.1 update is available for the 8X.

We are certain many Verizon HTC 8X owners are still wondering what really happened with the Windows Phone 8.1 update, which was supposed to arrive last month.

It’s Verizon and HTC’s fault that they haven’t informed customers about the delay of the update, and if it hadn’t been for a short reply on Twitter, we wouldn’t have known why Windows Phone 8.1 is still not available on the HTC 8X.

The update should have been pushed in later October

Well, it appears that the real reason behind the delay is the fact that HTC hit a few technical difficulties that make it impossible for the company to deliver Windows Phone 8.1 for 8X as promised.

The good news is that HTC has confirmed it is now working to fix these issues and will try to ship it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there’s no telling when exactly that will happen.

The only thing we know is that HTC’s engineers are working hard to patch these glitches, but we have no idea how long it will take. We sincerely hope HTC will keep Verizon 8X owners in the loop with anything that’s happening with the Windows Phone 8.1 update for this particular device.

Keep in mind that the Windows Phone 8.1 update has already been rolled out to unlocked HTC 8X version in lots of countries, so the issues mentioned by the Taiwanese company are strictly related to Verizon’s version.

Hopefully, the Windows Phone 8.1 update for Verizon HTC 8X will be released sooner rather than later. We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned.

Thank you Richard
