On April 14, Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has made available for download a new version of its mobile operating system, namely Windows Phone 8.1, and an update is already available for it now.

The platform was released as a Developer Preview, as the company is still working on finalizing it before a general rollout, and said update appears to be the very first refresh that Microsoft has for the new mobile OS variant.

However, users who are already running Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview on their smartphones won’t be provided with new features as part of the update, since it appears to have been designed only to add support for new languages.

According to a recent article on WMPoweruser, it’s yet unclear what exactly the new software release is bringing along in terms of language support, though users around the world are already receiving it, it seems.

Apparently, people in Germany, India, Canada and the United States claim to have already installed the update on their mobile phones.

The news on this small software refresh comes along with an update for the Xbox Music application in Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview, and confirms Microsoft’s commitment to deliver the features and enhancements to its users at a faster pace than before.
