Today, Windows Phone 8.1 started arriving on some devices out there in the form of a Developer Preview, but it seems that the OS was not the only thing that was updated on devices compatible with it.

In fact, a great deal of applications on Windows Phone also received a makeover, so as to better fit with the new platform release.

Thus, following the installation of Windows Phone 8.1, users will see that software such as Games, Calendar, Podcasts, and other apps were upgraded with support for the platform, and that there are some changes to other applications as well.

According to a recent post on MyNokiaBlog, those who use the Facebook Beta app on their Windows Phone devices will see that it won’t feature Action Center integration. However, the official mobile client for the Social Network does offer support for it.

HERE Maps also appears to have been updated to work better with Windows Phone 8.1, the same as HERE Drive+.

Moreover, Windows Phone 8.1 will bring along a change in the manner in which users can take screenshots on their devices. Now, they will need to press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons at the same time in order to capture the screen.

Following the release of Windows Phone 8.1 for developers, other applications are also expected to be updated soon, and some new ones should also land on devices, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
