One of the handsets that should arrive on shelves this year with the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system loaded on top is a new version of HTC One (M8), and it seems that the device is making it to the headlines more and more these days.

First of all, the device appears to have received the necessary certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance last month, though the listing was discovered by htcsoku only this week.

Interestingly enough, the phone was spotted there with model number HTC6995LVW attached to it, with the “VW” part suggesting that it will arrive on shelves as Verizon Wireless in the United States.

This falls in line with the recent reports on the smartphone, which have suggested that the wireless carrier might plan on making it official on August 21, under the strange name of HTC One (M8) for Windows Phone.

At the same time, the handset has been spotted once again in the AdDuplex database, where it has been confirmed to feature a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display.

The phone has emerged there with the same HTC6995LVW model number attached to it, which further hints that Verizon will carry it. Windows Phone 8.1 has been also confirmed to be loaded on it.

As mentioned above, the smartphone could go official in less than a month, which means that additional info on it should emerge soon. Stay tuned to learn the news.
