It seems that not all is know on what the upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system from Microsoft is set to deliver to the market. We already learned a wide range of details on the platform's capabilities, but one of them was not unveiled until now, namely phone-to-console gaming. Of course, this is not one of the features that Windows Phone 7 would sport at launch, but it is expected to become available for the platform in the near future, it seems.

Microsoft Canada's Greg Milligan said during a recent Xbox 360 event that the software giant is planning the addition of this capability to the OS though no time frame for when that might happen was unveiled.

However, it seems that it should all become available in the near future, and that the initial release would actually include companion games for the full 360 titles, as this article on WMPoweruser shows.

All in all, the feature is on its way to the new mobile operating system, though it still remains to be seen how the Redmond-based company would plan on putting the phone-to-console gaming in practice.

Of course, Microsoft already included Xbox LIVE with the platform, and a nice range of other gaming capabilities along with it, and phone-to-console gaming should turn out to be a very nice enhancement for the OS, especially with the titles sporting price tags in the $1.99 to $2.99 range.

One other thing that won't be included in the WP7 OS at launch, though it should come at a later date, is Twitter integration, though applications to offer access to the social networking site would be supported.

Windows Phone 7 was touted as landing on shelves with an enhanced social media experience, and the inclusion of Twitter capabilities at launch or soon after should be part of that promise.

Additional info on what Microsoft has just unveiled on the gaming capabilities of its Windows Phone 7 OS can be learned from the video below.
