Redmond-based software giant Microsoft has decided to offer some joy this holiday season to its Windows Phone 7 users, and has delivered an updated Xbox LIVE Extras app to them.

The new solution was pushed to the Windows Phone Marketplace this week, with a nice set of new features, it seems, while being available in more countries than initially.

According to a recent post on Michael Klucher's Blog, the new update to Xbox LIVE Extras brings support for more languages than before, while also offering Windows Phone 7 users the possibility to manage friend requests inside Xbox LIVE Extras.

Here’s what he has to say on the matter:

New countries, new languages! We’re making Xbox LIVE Extras available in new languages including French, Italian, German, and Spanish. This also means that Xbox LIVE Extras will now be available in all the official countries where Windows Phone and Xbox LIVE are available!

Manage friend requests inside Xbox LIVE Extras!

You’ll now be able to accept, or reject friend requests inside of Xbox LIVE Extras. Additionally you’ll be able to manage your friends’ lists as well as requests to others. But this is not all, as other enhancements were added into the mix as well, including new Avatar animations, as well as new configuration options.

At the same time, Michael Klucher notes that the new release comes with the option to display one’s motto on his / her profile.

A series of other improvements were also added into the mix, including some related to the overall stability of the application. The solution should also be faster than the previous version.

Those who already had Xbox LIVE Extras installed on their devices should look for the update in the Windows Phone Marketplace.

The application store is the place where users in the newly added countries would find the application available for download for their handsets. Head over to the Games section on Windows Phone Marketplace next week to download it.
