Microsoft's employees are more than happy for having the Windows Phone 7 operating system, released to manufacturers, especially since they worked hard during the past 18 months on the product, and it makes sense that they participated at a parade meant to celebrate the moment.

It's a common fact that Microsoft is betting a lot on the new mobile platform, hopping that it would bringing back into the fight on the smartphone market.

No wonder that Microsoft's employees are happy for the RTM status of Windows Phone 7, as the photos and video with the parade show.

“Our engineering and development teams have been working so hard over the last 18 months and it was great to be a part of the celebration of this milestone, this time with a rockin’ parade. There is more work to do, but we are well on our way to bringing Windows Phone 7 to market,” a recent post on the Windows Phone 7 blog reads.

If you were wondering how happy would Microsoft be about the near launch of Windows Phone 7, the answer is simple: very.

Proof of that comes from the fact that hearses and coffins for both the iPhone and BlackBerry phones were featured at the parade, suggesting that the new platform version from Microsoft might soon prove to be an iPhone killer.

Considering what we've already seen being showcased on the platform, we shouldn't be surprised if things turn this way, though bringing the iPhone down won't be an easy task for Microsoft, that's for sure, especially considering the way in which people look at Windows Mobile.

However, this does not mean that Windows Phone 7 won't be successful, or that it won't appeal to end users as Microsoft expects it to.

Microsoft is certainly hoping that Windows Phone 7 “buries the competition,” even if some of the latest analyst reports place the OS on the fifth place on the market in 2014.

The video below shows people performing moves from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music clip. Photos taken at this parade can be found on Flickr here.
